In its raw form, batana can feel very heavy, so we use a fractionated version for a lighter, more wearable finish that still delivers nourishment and shine.

 

Cucumber Oil
Cucumber seed oil has a lightweight, silky feel and is naturally high in omega-6 linoleic acid and phytosterols, which support moisture retention and a soft, comfortable feel. We added it for the soothing, refreshing feel it gives when applied to dry scalp and dry-feeling hair.

A balanced, healthy scalp is the foundation for strong, resilient hair, which is why we included our chicory-root-based prebiotic complex. Sodium Phytate - a natural plant-derived salt of phytic acid, used as a chelating agent that binds to metal ions to improve product stability, prevent discoloration and boost preservative efficacy.

Propanediol - natural non-sticky emollient, used in this cream to boost preservative efficacy and improve skin/hair hydration

Guar Gum - a natural fiber used to thicken and stabilize this cream.

Use less product than you would for chunky twists. Apply a small amount to each section, smooth it through, and twist tightly enough for definition but not so tight that the scalp feels pulled. Reapply lightly during the week only if the twists start to feel dry.

 

For Flat Twists
Apply to damp or lightly misted hair before twisting. Smooth the cream into each section to help control frizz and give the style a soft, moisturized finish. 

 

For Box Braids
Before braiding, apply a light layer to each section of natural hair. Focus on the length and ends so the hair is moisturized before it gets tucked away. 

For Cornrows
Apply a small amount to each section before braiding. Smooth it through the hair to reduce dryness and help the braids look neater. Use more on the ends if your hair tends to get brittle or rough.

 

For Braid-Outs
Apply to damp hair, braid each section, and let the hair dry completely. When taking the braids down, add a tiny amount of oil to your fingertips to reduce frizz. Separate gently for fullness.

 

For Twist-Outs
Apply to damp or misted hair, twist in sections, and let the twists fully dry. Do not rush the takedown. Once dry, unravel gently and separate only where the hair naturally wants to split. That is how you keep the definition cute.

 

For Bantu Knots
Apply a small amount to each section, smooth through, twist or wrap into knots, and secure. Let hair dry fully before taking down. This helps the finished style look shiny, soft, and defined instead of dry or puffy.

 

For Protective Style Prep
Use before installing braids, twists, crochet styles, wigs, or tucked styles. The goal is to moisturize the hair before it is hidden away, because dry hair under a protective style is still dry hair.

You still shouldn't pack too much product onto the scalp though. When applying to a braid section, start near the foot and continue applying through to the ends.

Can I use this on kids’ hair?
