Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to receive my order?

Orders are shipped using USPS. If you choose free shipping, your order is mailed using USPS First Class Mail when available, or USPS 2-Day Priority Mail when First Class is not available. Tracking is sent to the email address used at checkout when tracking is available.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes. Princess Mudd offers free shipping on orders of $40 or more.

Are all of your ingredients from the United States?

Not every ingredient is from the United States. Some ingredients are U.S.-grown or U.S.-cultivated, like the marshmallow root listed on the ingredients page, while specialty ingredients like pure batana oil are sourced from Honduras. This is intentional because certain traditional ingredients come from specific places and processes.

Which Princess Mudd products are best for dry, brittle hair?

For dry, brittle hair, start with the Yucca Root + Elderberry Moisturizing Shampoo, Elderberry Moisturizing Conditioner, Batana Moisturizing Hairdress, and Vital 12 Hair & Scalp Oil. The shampoo cleans without stripping, the conditioner adds deep moisture and slip, the hairdress helps with softness and styling, and the oil helps seal in shine and comfort the scalp.

What is the best product for twist-outs?

For twist-outs, use Batana Moisturizing Hairdress to moisturize and define the hair, then apply Flawless Finish Soft Hold Setting Foam over the finished twists for volume, soft hold, and curl definition without crunch. The foam is made for twist-outs, wash-and-gos, roller sets, braid styles, and diffuser styles.

Are Princess Mudd products “all natural”?

Princess Mudd is an HERBAL beauty brand that uses botanical ingredients, herbal infusions, naturally derived ingredients, oils, butters, and extracts. Some formulas also include functional cosmetic ingredients like preservatives and emulsifiers so the products are safe, stable, and pleasant to use.

Where are your herbs from?

We grow many of our own plants, including the elderberries used to make the elderberry extract in some of our most popular products. Those elderberries are grown and harvested by us with care.

For the herbs we are not able to grow in large enough amounts ourselves, we work with a larger U.S.-based farm that can supply the quality and quantity we need. This allows us to keep our products rooted in real herbal ingredients while still making sure we can consistently serve our customers.
