Made with a Prebiotic Complex to support a comfortable, balanced-feeling scalp and help reduce scalp dryness, flaking, and itch. Healthy-looking hair starts with a cared-for scalp—always. After the First Use
Your hair feels softer immediately—like it finally got the moisture it’s been asking for. You’ll also notice a boost in elasticity (that “stretch” before snap), which means less breakage from everyday handling, detangling, and styling. After Continued Use
With consistent use, dry, dull strands start to look brighter and healthier, and the overall texture feels smoother and more conditioned. Hair becomes noticeably more manageable—easier to detangle, easier to style, and easier to keep moisturized between wash days. The Scent
It smells like elderflower in the spring—a soft, beautiful floral that feels clean and airy, with a subtle nutty warmth underneath. The kind of scent that makes you pause mid-application like… yeah, this is the one.Aloe Vera
Our fractionally distilled aloe vera is a lightweight hydrator that helps quench dry hair and support a comfortable, moisturized scalp. It’s commonly used to soften hair and soothe dry, itchy-feeling scalp.Yerba Mate
Yerba mate is rich in caffeine and antioxidants, which is why it’s increasingly used in hair care to support stronger, longer, healthier-looking hair. It acts as a natural scalp stimulant and in this cream, is used to help energize the scalp,Sunflower Lecithin
Rich in fatty acids, this ingredient helps to deeply moisturize and strengthen dry or damaged hair. Sunflower Lecithin helps to improve manageability, reduce frizz and support healthy, full hair growth and is commonly used in conditioners to boost texture and hydration.Apricot Oil
Apricot oil is a lightweight, conditioning oil that helps soften and add shine without weighing hair down. It’s also commonly used to comfort dry-feeling scalp and help hair look less dull.Fractionated Batana Oil
Batana is loved in textured-hair routines for its rich, conditioning feel—helping dry hair look healthier, feel softer, and appear less frizzy. In its raw form, batana can feel very heavy, so we use a fractionated version for a lighter, more wearable finish that still delivers nourishment and shine.Cucumber Oil
Cucumber seed oil has a lightweight, silky feel and is naturally high in omega-6 linoleic acid and phytosterols, which support moisture retention and a soft, comfortable feel. We added it for the soothing, refreshing feel it gives when applied to dry scalp and dry-feeling hair.Prebiotic Complex
A balanced, healthy scalp is the foundation for strong, resilient hair, which is why we included our chicory-root-based prebiotic complex. It’s designed to support scalp health by feeding beneficial bacteria, supporting the skin barrier, and helping reduce the conditions that contribute to oiliness, flaking, and irritation.HoneyQuat
Honeyquat is a honey-derived conditioning ingredient that binds to hair to improve softness, slip, and shine—making hair easier to detangle and more manageable. It’s known for strong moisture-binding ability and helps leave hair feeling conditioned without a sticky, coated finish.Sodium PCA
Sodium PCA is a powerhouse humectant (water-binding ingredient) and part of the body’s natural moisturizing factors, which makes it excellent for boosting hydration in both hair and scalp formulas. It helps hair feel softer and more flexible—key for brittle strands that tend to snap with handling.Marshmallow Root
Marshmallow root is famous for its natural mucilage, which gives that ultra-slippery glide textured hair loves for detangling and smoothness. It also supports hydration by helping hair hold onto moisture, which can reduce frizz and improve manageability.Other ingredients you’ll find on the label:
Benzyl Alcohol (and) Salicylic Acid (and) Glycerin (and) Sorbic Acid. — An ECOCERT and Cosmos compliant broad spectrum preservative.

WHO NEEDS IT MOST?
If your hair still looks dry even after you moisturize, you don’t need more product—you need the right kind of moisture. This Batana Hairdress is for textured hair that wants rich hydration and conditioning, but refuses to do grease, stickiness, flakes, or that coated feeling.
And if you’re over twist creams that dry down crunchy and leave residue, you’ll love how this wears: your hair stays soft and touchable, and your twist-outs come out shiny with long-lasting definition that looks juicy—not stiff.
Moisturizing Leave-in Hair Treatment
Separate wet hair into sections. Apply a small amount of cream to each section from root to tip while detangling hair with fingers (or a wide-tooth comb). Repeat 1-2 times per week or after your wash day routine. This helps hair dry down conditioned, flexible, and soft, with less tugging during detangling and less dryness showing up midweek.2-Strand Twist-Outs
On clean, damp hair, part into sections. Apply a small amount from root to tip, then split the section into two. Twist the two strands around each other to create a rope-like spiral. When you reach the ends, apply a tiny bit more cream and coil the ends around your finger for a neat finish. Let hair dry completely, then gently unravel each twist and fluff at the roots. You’ll get shiny, juicy definition that lasts—curls look smooth and well-formed, but still feel soft, not stiff or sticky.
Tip: Use a little oil on your fingertips when unraveling to reduce frizz while separating.SOOTHING SCALP LOTION
Part hair and apply a small amount directly to the scalp, then massage gently with fingertips. Use as needed between wash days, especially on dry areas along the hairline, crown, and nape.It delivers comfortable moisture to a dry, tight-feeling scalp without leaving you oily—just calm, nourished, and refreshed.
PREVENT SPLIT ENDS
The only way to fix split ends is to cut them. But you can help prevent them by keeping ends moisturized, reducing friction, and protecting them from drying out.Apply a small amount to the last 2–3 inches of hair (ends first). For extra protection, smooth a tiny bit more over the ends before bed, then cover with a satin bonnet/scarf. Your ends stay softer, more protected, and less likely to turn brittle and split over time.
Is this a hair cream for dry hair or a styling product?
It’s both, but moisture comes first. This is a moisturizing hair cream that also smooths hair for braids and twists. Twist-outs come out defined and juicy with a non-sticky, soft hold that won’t flake. Is this good for 4C hair?
Yes. If you’ve been searching for moisturizing products for 4C hair, this was made for that level of dryness and shrinkage-prone texture. It’s rich enough to satisfy coils, but still designed to dry down clean—not greasy. Is it only for textured hair?
Textured hair benefits most, but anyone with dry, dull hair can use it—especially on mid-lengths and ends. The finish is conditioning without being greasy, so it plays well across hair types. What makes it different from other twisting creams?
A lot of creams rely on heavy waxes or sticky hold that leaves residue. This one focuses on intense moisture + a clean finish, so hair feels soft, conditioned, and touchable—without that crunchy or coated after-feel.

Reviews
The entire line of Princess Mudd has been a good choice for me and my family. I bought most, if not all of the products to try them out. My favorites quickly became the pre-poo Follicle Stimulator and the Nourishing Hair Butter. Let me tell you, that Princess Mudd butter is a must have!!!!!! I started using it on my hair, but quickly saw the benefits to not only my hair, but my hands and cuticles as well.
I cannot tell you how hydrating the products have been. I did not see my hair as dry but I soon found out how thirsty my hair was and what a difference Princess Mudd Products made to my length, strength, and moisture. When I saw that I was running out, I knew I needed to reorder.
My daughter also loves the products as she embarks upon her natural hair journey. Her hair was over processed and short from breakage. Now she has spring and bounce to her wet natural hair and has experienced significant hair growth. The hydrating mist has really shortened her detangle time.
My last favorite is the astringent. I had a serious ingrown hair that was gently removed by using the astringent everyday. I love, love, love the products and highly recommend for all hair types.
My natural hair is 3b- 3c fine strands, curls, and sometimes oily at the scalp and dry at the ends. I do not use the butter on the scalp for a blow out, but can use it when wearing my hair natural.
My daughter hair is 4b-4c kinky/coily, and dry. She loves the pre-poo and the butter, as well as the hydrating mist. She said that her college roommates ask to use her Princess Mudd products constantly.
Im so glad I tried this! Ive tried a lot of curly hair products, and wasted some money in the process, but this is a keeper. This product is pretty fantastic, but the Princess Mudd Rose Mist Spray is probably my very most favorite hair product, great for refreshing my curls. I seem to be allergic to a lot of stuff but its all smooth sailing with Princess Mudd products. I became aware of Princess Mudd by reading a best products list. Of all the products listed (there are a number of categories), the ingredient list for Princess Mudd was what compelled me to give it a try. So glad I did! I use this as the Cream in the L.O.C. (Leave-in, Oil, Cream) method.
I use their Restorative Styling Cream & Herbal Hair Growth Oil together for my naturally curly hair and I love it so much! Only thing that actually keeps my hair hydrated and doesnt dry it out after a day! And it smells soooo good. Highly recommend especially for the curly haired queens&kings ??
It's like an updated version of what used to be called "hair dressing" but it's more creamy and less oily. It reminds me of a juicier, way more organic/luscious version of Vitapointe.
My hair is 3c, always curly, never straight, never. I tried this a bit on wet hair as the Oil in LOC and also as a refresher ... I just can't get it right. ??
What I am using it for (this is my second jar) is to mix it with batana oil when I put it in the night before wash days. So, I just use it to mix in with and cut the smell of the straight batana because batana oil alone has such a weird smell, way beyond "Honey, not tonight" & into "Honey, I thought you could sleep with the dog at your mom's house."
This product has batana in it already and it smells yummy, so I figured the balance of other fragrances could push back a little and I was right, I'm pleased.
I can see this being great for people with thicker hair that soaks up moisture and oils well. My hair is curly but fine. This product goes in nicely to my hair and curld it nice, but once it settles in my hair and drys, my hair feels rough and tangled almost feeling dry yet dramatically weighed down and givess an oiler look. My hair is porous genetically, and needs something that gives slip and shine rather than heavy moisture. The smell of this cream is very herbal like nettle more than anything which is questionable how fresh the scent will be after a few days between shampoos
